My journey to reduce my carbon footprint began in 2016 when I started commuting by bi-cycle. This decision transformed my life, improving my health and deepening my appreciation for the environment. However, during my rides, I frequently encountered piles of garbage, mostly plastic, which frustrated me. It left me wondering, “Why isn’t anyone addressing this?” At the same time, I had to confront the fact that I was contributing to the problem too.

Determined to make a difference, I began searching for ways to minimize the waste my family produces. It’s been challenging, especially without accessible refill stations for products like soap. While we could purchase larger refill packs, they still come in plastic containers, which felt like a half-measure.

Then it hit me: What if we had convenient refill stations in easily accessible places, like the lobbies of apartment buildings? It could make refilling those bottles effortless and drastically cut down on plastic waste.  And with that idea, Eco Refill was born.
